Love Bone – Dedicated to Golden Retriever Puppies, Ben & Jerry

As long as I can remember, I have always loved dogs and have a special affinity for goldens.
One of the blogs I like to read is Spencer’s Blog. He’s a Golden Retriever mascot and retired movie star. His blog is full of his adventures – an often humorous and entertaining read.
Recently, his blog took on a serious note with the touching story of rescued Golden Retriever pups, Ben & Jerry. Read it for yourself in the moving, wise words of Spencer’s mom.
It was this post that prompted me to look up the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue (GRCGLA Rescue), add them as a permanent organization in my “Paws For A Good Cause” effort, and inspired me to create and dedicate the following piece in memory of Ben & Jerry.
This “Love Bone” necklace features an adorable Lampwork glass bone bead handcrafted by Kim Yamakawa of JuJu Beadz. Kim sweetly donated this bead especially for “Paws For A Good Cause”.
Genuine red Coral barrels, Karen Hill Tribe Silver and Sterling Silver make up the rest of the necklace.
100% of the proceeds from this piece will be donated to GRCGLA Rescue in honor of Ben & Jerry. Click the photos above to view the Etsy listing.
Rest in peace Ben & Jerry. Wherever you are in the great beyond, may you be happy and healthy, safe and sound, well taken care of, very much loved, and romping & playing with other pups on cool grassy fields in the sunshine.

Edit: To clarify, Spencer’s humans have informed me that they were fostering Ben & Jerry for the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (SCGR Rescue).
Spencer was fostered, then later adopted from the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue (GRCGLA Rescue).
Both are great organizations and will be terrific, permanent additions for ‘Paws For A Good Cause’.
