1/90 Hint At Something Deeper with Giftbearer

giftbearer1.jpg

Pippit Carlington is the owner and jewelry designer of the Giftbearer shop at Etsy.com. All her pieces are unique and exquisite. Pippit is a reputable seller with the impeccable feedback of a 100% positive rating. She loves her buyers and provides them with the highest level of customer service.

giftbearer2.jpg

Hint at Something Deeper is a stunning piece with two-in-two chainmaille and formed, oxidized copper flowers. It’s a fascinating combination of elegance and earthiness. Fine silver wires are tipped with a fine silver slip, fired, and then embellished with intense aqua faceted Apatite rondelles. These are wrapped and bundled so that they fan out in all directions, tucked inside the copper petals which curve gracefully as if to cradle their precious contents.

This is a truly fantastic piece of wearable Art. Even the name sounds both alluring and profound. The beautiful blue stones make a striking contrast with the copper for a gorgeous well balanced necklace. It’s easy to see the many hours spent in both creating the design and putting it together. Most certainly a remarkable piece to treasure!

Please click any of the photos above to view the item in detail. And make sure to check out all of Pippit’s other wonderful jewelry pieces!

2/90 Dream Weaver - Photography by Tiffany Teske

Fragile by Tiffany Teske

When I look at Tiffany Teske’s body of work, I immediately have an emotional reaction. I love the way her photographs have a dreamlike quality and an “old world” appeal from the soft, muted colors using a Polaroid Transfer technique. The warm skin tones and her exploration of light and shadow remind me of Vermeer paintings, but these are definitely contemporary subjects. Her black and white compositions and richly textured pieces convey a certain sense of melancholy that is both beautiful and touching.

Daydream by Tiffany Teske

Tiffany first discovered her love for photography at the tender age of 7 but traveled a different path with many unexpected and interesting turns before she finally decided to pursue her original passion. Her style is unique, full of character, and truly an engaging work of Art.

Please visit her shop and view her gallery to see for yourself. Her pictures are worth a thousand words.

5/90 Linked to the Sea with A Rose By Name

Linked to the Sea necklace by ARoseByName

This gorgeous necklace, titled “Linked to the Sea”, was created by stitching individual links using the peyote beadweaving technique and then meticulously linking them together. The colors are a range of sea colors from deep blue green to stormy gray Delicas. Each link consists of 64 beads woven together and there are 110 links for a total of 7,040 beads! This necklace was truly a labor of love!

arosebyname2.jpg

“Linked to the Sea” was beaded by Anna, owner of Etsy.com store, A Rose By Name. Anna is a self employed mother of two teenage girls and an avid supporter of our military. She has enjoyed beading for many years and it’s her therapy for stress.

I’m truly impressed with the dedication and craftsmanship of this dazzling design. Anna has a great eye for detail and a lot of patience for putting together 7, 040 beads in one masterful creation! Lol. The result was well worth it. This fabulous necklace has great fluid movement and a rich blend of oceanic colors.

Clicking any of the photos above will take you directly to that item listing. Make sure to check out the rest of Anna’s beaded creations including one of my faves in her store, the School Girl Plaid Card Case.

6/90 Modern Classic Elements by Dawn

Dawn Brandt is a jewelry designer who loves to incorporate patterns and texture in her pieces, allowing them to take on movement, visual and tactile interest. She employs color and form to communicate emotion and energy. Dawn’s pieces range from simplistic shapes and lines, evoking a sense of calm; to heavily textured, with bold colors and lines suggesting passion. Her obsession with circles, spheres, disks, and symmetry is expressed throughout her designs.

Featured below are a couple of my faves from her Etsy.com store, ElementsByDawn. Clicking any of the photos and links will take you to that particular item listing.

Fine Silver and 14kt Goldfilled earrings by ElementsByDawn

Fine Silver & 14kt Goldfilled Earrings . $28
A minimalist at heart, I really love these two pieces by Dawn. Made of Fine Silver - 99.99% pure silver - these disks have been skillfully texturized, given a soft polished finish, and then are suspended from 14kt gold-filled ear wires. The ear wires have been lightly hammered to add strength and are meticulously filed smooth for comfort.

Wide Argentium Sterling Silver Cuff by ElementsByDawn

Wide Argentium Sterling Silver Cuff . $50
A bold 1″ wide Argentium™ Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet is sure to turn heads. This bracelet was created from 22 gauge Argentium™ Sterling Silver, given a hammered texture and oxidized to bring out the hammering detail. All edges and corners have been filed smooth for comfort.

Argentium™ Sterling Silver is a relatively new silver alloyed with germanium that makes it highly tarnish and mar resistant. Only a few jewelry designers are using this more expensive silver and Dawn is one of them. I really like Dawn’s jewelry for their wearability. Her pieces are modern and classic. On top of that, your purchased jewelry will arrive gift wrapped in cute little boxes.

7/90 Plastic Pumpkin Art - Spiritual, Fun & Intriguing

Pink Blossoms in Early Spring by Plastic Pumpkin

Plastic Pumpkin Designs mainly showcases the work of mix-media artist, Ren Adams, also known as An Rui Ning. I love what she says in her profile:

I’ve been doing artwork my entire life and for me, it’s more than a “hobby” or “job,” it’s a state of mind and a fulfilling pathway. I can’t NOT do it. I simply must create. If I’m not drawing, painting, or otherwise expressing myself (however badly), I’m not in harmony with everything around me.

Art is a sensation, a sense of humor, a sense of elation, a tantalizing window… it’s pure energy, pure thought, and pure darkness, and pure light.

I’m also a Taoist and a lot of my artwork reflects my spiritual pathway (the art of compassion, simplicity, and patience). I practice Qi Gong meditation and enjoy artists who aren’t afraid to be themselves.

Balance Bamboo with Tea Wash by Plastic Pumpkin

Ren takes a fun, philosophical approach to her artwork. With a name like “Plastic Pumpkin” - the fun side definitely shows. Her store is a unique mix of spiritually influenced paintings, bold experimental mix-media works, and whimsically quirky character portraits.

Double Vision Alien Landscape by Plastic Pumpkin

She employs a variety of methods and mediums including Chinese brush painting, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel, pencil, marker, and pen & ink.

The pictures shown above are just a few of my favorites. Click the photos to take you directly to each item listing. And make sure to check out the rest of her captivating and varied artworks in her Etsy.com shop!

9/90 Fun, Whimsical Beads by Marcy Lamberson

Sasha Mary Louise Gorilla Lampwork Bead by Marcy Lamberson

Marcy Lamberson is the glass artist and owner of Studio Marcy in Atlanta, Georgia. She creates whimsical Lampwork beads and other fun sculptures. She has been melting glass for over 8 years and has loved every minute of it. If you do the math, that makes 4,204,800 minutes - wow! And the love she feels certainly translates to her finished products. I dare you not to smile, even on the inside, when you look at her beads. A perfect example is Sasha Mary Louise, the fashionista Gorilla pictured above.

Sprocket the Boston Terrier Lampwork Bead by Marcy Lamberson

Another one of her fun beads is Sprocket, her niece’s Boston Terrier that she rescued on the side of the road in California. He’s a delightful little guy who comes to visit whenever her niece does. He seems to have a dog trait of wanting to patrol everything when he’s there. He does laps around the house and yard as if he’s checking to make sure everything is okay.

One of my necklaces called Bow 2 the Wow Wow using a Boston Terrier Lampwork bead by Marcy

Marcy has made this bead many times. But due to it’s handcrafted nature, each one is unique, has lots of personality, and captures the spunk of the real version. I heart this silly pup bead! His timeless expression is so cute and has so much character. I bought one of these beads and turned it into a necklace called Bow 2 the Wow Wow, pictured above.

If you’re ever in a bad mood or feeling a little down, just pop on over to Marcy’s Etsy.com store, StudioMarcy, and check out all her fun beads. They’re the perfect antidote to lift your spirits. I guarantee you’ll be smiling - even if only on the inside.

10/90 Silver Dragon Beaded Creations

Coral Reef beaded earrings by Silver Dragon

Patricia Vener of Silver Dragon Creations not only makes colorful and meticulously detailed beaded jewelry, she’s also led a very interesting, accomplished and colorful life, wearing the many hats of ballet dancer, published illustrator, astronomer and college professor. She uses the arts as an outlet to her creative side.

Red Sky at Night beaded earrings by Silver Dragon

The pieces I found most interesting in her store are her seed beaded earrings. Click each photo above to take you directly to the item listing. Both pieces were made using a Russian variation of the Peyote stitch, a Native American off-loom bead weaving technique.

The first one on top is enhanced with a delicate coral like fringe. Along with the color scheme, it is unmistakably feminine and certainly not for a shy wallflower.

The second pair pictured, Red Sky at Night, is a decisively bold blend of reds with bits of yellow and trimmed in several shades of blue.

Make sure to check out Patricia’s Etsy.com store to view more of her unique beaded creations.
